- No matter what flights and airlines you take, it’s a long trip. We stopped for two days in Amsterdam which made our adjustment to Ethiopia go much easier. The draw back was that it cost us more money and being a tourist in Amsterdam kind of took our focus off the task at hand – bringing Judah home.
- Four flights of stairs in high altitude is hard at first but gets easier throughout the week. We were super thankful for the hotel staffers that carried our heavy luggage up the stairs at midnight!
- I wouldn’t count on internet at the Union.
- If you get carsick, take Dramamine the night before and that morning… it helps.
- Hamburgers have a different texture and taste than what we’re used to and I didn’t like it at all.
- Settle on taxi fare before you drive!
- The fruit at the Hilton was awesome and so was the internet. Both were pricy.
- Be prepared to drink lots of strong cofee at the different places you go:

Very Very true- especially the four flights of stairs part
ReplyDeleteWhere would you go for the internet?
ReplyDeletemy answer to HFM's question: That's a good question. We went to the Hilton which was awesome but a bit pricey... especially if you don't negotiate the cab fair first. We let the hotel call us a cab to take us to the coffee shop. That place didn't have internet so we asked to go to the Hilton and paid 500 birr which is ~$40 for the ride. Ridiculous but our fault! Good question.
ReplyDeleteI never drink coffee but will make myself when we're there. :)
ReplyDeleteHow much was the internet at the Hilton?
